Surprise Adventure

This is my friend Amber. We worked together at Sweet Tooth Fairy. But sadly, she's moving back to SLC to get her Masters. So....well....just watch the video and you'll see.

PS, I've NEVER swam in that cold of water in my life. But we still had a blast. Thanks for the good times Amber! Don't worry, we'll be friends forever. We'll probably even hang out in SLC next week when I'm in town.

Berry Delicious

I finally did it. I made my own jam. Strawberry freezer jam. It's delicious. And I can't believe how easy it was.

Happy 27th Birthday Christian

Happy birthday to my Chrissy. I always tell him he's the best husband I've ever had. But seriously. He is. When I get home from work late at night, he always rubs my feet and cooks me dinner....even when I get home at midnight. He's very smart and extremely talented when it comes to architecture. He's going to be a very successful architect in a few years, but an even better father someday. No, I'm not announcing anything. I'm just saying. He loves his nieces and nephews and has fun being with all the kids.

Thankfully Christian is the easiest person to shop for. There are only a few things he really loves: music, video games, architecture supplies, vans, and anything with wheels. I really wanted to get him the BMW he's always wanted...but I'll need to sell a few more cupcakes before I can buy that. So, this year I went with video games.
For his birthday, we had Tyler & Steph's family over for taco bar and pie. It poured during dinner which made his birthday even better. It was cool enough to leave our door open all day.
Since we have cupcakes all the time now, I decided to make asphalt pie instead. It was deeeeelicious.

After they left we went on a bike ride and the weather was incredible. The sunsets in Arizona are so beautiful. It was a perfect day. Happy birthday Christian! I love you!

If you're still reading, here's a few secrets about Christian.

1. He never gets angry. He was raised by a wonderful father who never, not even once yelled at any of the children or Christian's mom growing up. Like his dad, Christian doesn't get worked up about stupid little things, or even big things. He always says that by getting angry, it's not going to solve the problem.

2. He's almost OCD about cleanliness and organization. He washes his hands about 15 times a day. All of his drawers, especially his sock drawer, are perfectly organized. He makes sure that our car never goes a week without being washed and vacuumed thoroughly.

3. Christian loves to be weird with me. Sometimes we make up games or competitions that only the Bevan's would understand. Like the one night we spent hours trying to run towards one another, then jump and kiss in midair. It's really hard. Or when we try to run while swinging your right arm with your right leg and your left arm with your left leg. That one's hard too. I think I might have to post of video of that one. I've always done weird stuff that I think is funny and I'm so glad to be married to someone that plays along. I don't have to hold back or be afraid of getting embarrassed.

4. Christian is perfect for me. That's probably not a secret though.

Storm Chasers

Christian and I have been on many storm chasing adventures this week. Arizona has had many nights of lightning, thunder, and rain. Christian got some pretty great photos of the action. A couple times this week I've been able to lay in bed with the window open while I listen to the rain. I really miss the rain. I'm thinking maybe Christian should do his grad internship in Portland or Seattle...or maybe Hawaii. Yeah, that sounds better.

Sedona

We needed out of Phoenix for a bit. So we took a day trip to Sedona. It was about a 2 hour drive and our new car did awesome. Sedona was really beautiful. We packed our bikes with us, but unfortunately, we found out how "hilly" Sedona is. We would've died trying to ride our single speed's up and down all the hills. So instead we drove and walked to different spots. First, we drove to Garlands Lodge and went on a small hike.

On our way to the next stop, we stopped at a really cool bridge. When we were under the bridge we saw a bunch of people at the base of the canyon floating the river. We later found out there's a trail you can hike down to the water. We'll have to do that next time.
 
 Our next adventure was walking through the shops in Sedona. We found lots of fun trinkets but didn't feel like spending a lot of money. What was that? $6.99 for a scoop of ice cream? Umm....No thank you.
 
 After the shops we went on an adventure to find the Chapel of the Holy Cross. Sadly, we got there 30 minutes after it had closed. But Christian still managed to get a few great pictures of it.
 We had so much fun in Sedona. We're already planning a camping trip for August now that we now where to hike and what to do. We're already getting excited to go back.

Independence Day

For the 4th of July, we had a BBQ at our place with some friends. We even got to eat outside! Eating lunch outside, in the middle of the summer in Arizona is out of the question. But luckily, it rained all morning on the 4th. It cooled everything down and stayed around 85 degrees all day. It was perfect weather. Later that night we walked across the street to Tempe Town Lake to watch the fireworks.
