King of the Mountain

After my softball game, Christian and I hiked "A" mountain. Funny...I'm pretty sure I once said I'd never go on a hike again. But I did it! I made it. It was really, really steep, my thighs were on fire, I huffed and puffed, but I made it. Is it ridiculous that I'm bragging about making it up "A" mountain when hundreds of people RUN up it daily?

Do you see what's spray painted below my feet?

Chris and Ryan were here? Weird huh.

Here's a group project Christian has been working on:

On the streets of Tempe

This weekend was lovely. It was around 75 degrees. On Saturday, we went downtown Phoenix to the library. After, we drove around and looked at old houses. I love all the lemon and orange trees here. When we get a house, I want our backyard filled with them.

I got a check from BYU-Idaho. We're not 100% sure why...we think it was left over scholarship money. But since the weather was beautiful yesterday, I knew where I wanted to spend my money. So we headed to the bike shop. 3 bike shops to be exact.

The first shop was full of bikes...but the only girl bikes were overpriced beach cruisers. I don't know why, I just don't like beach cruisers. Maybe it's the fact that the seats on beach cruisers are humungous and I don't like to be reminded that my ace really IS that big.

The second store we went to mostly had mountain bikes. I hate mountain bikes. They're too complex for me. And listening to the clicking and clacking of gear changing makes me feel like I'm breaking the bike. Plus, they're ugly. They always come in the ugliest color combinations. It's like the bikes are saying, "Hey there! You must be a nature girl. That means you like ugly things. Pick me!"

Things were starting to look up at the third store. The first thing we noticed was that they carried small bikes. Do you know how hard it is to find a size small, women's bike? After some searching....drumroll please....

...I am now the proud owner of a black, single-speed bicycle. It's perfect. It's simple, a good color, good price, and is small.

We went on a very long bike ride last night to break her in. Then, today after church, we went on another bike ride.

Christmas Eve 2011

We're in Colorado this year with the Hulme's. On Christmas Eve, we went to the Trail of Lights. It was so fun! But very, very cold. I couldn't feel my feet or legs by the end of it. We went to Chinese after which is a Hulme tradition.

Early Christmas

We leave for Colorado tomorrow morning, so Christian and I had our own little Christmas tonight. I didn't feel like packing extra stuff just to bring it back again. It was very fun! I got him a guitar game and he got me clothes.

Off to pack...I'm hoping I don't freeze to death.

that one time I realized I wouldn't make a very good mother

Soooo,
last weekend, we got to be parents while Steph ran a marathon in Vegas. All was going well on Saturday...and then it happened. The baby pooped. Who knew that babies pooped? Not me.

Solution?

Change her diaper!

I'm a little embarrassed to say, one whiff of that doodie and I started gagging til my eyes were watering. That's when I realized I probably won't make a very good mother. But Christian changed all the poopy diapers last weekend. So he'll make a great dad. Together we'll make success. I'll just shut our kids in their bedrooms until Christian is done with work, and then when he opens the door and the smell knocks him out, I'll just say, "What? Oh. He/She must have JUST pooped."

Other than that, we had a fun weekend with the girls! We went to school, the park, watched lots of movies, played lots of hide and seek and had lots of giggles.
