family pictures

We spent our weekend in Oregon with the Bowns fam. Since everyone was home for Kate & Sam's graduation, we got to take family pictures. These are the pictures that were taken of us. I need help choosing which picture to blow up for our wall...

This is the only picture not of Christian and I that was taken with our camera of the sisters. There's cuter ones on my moms camera of all the sisters+sister inlaws and mom. I'll post some after I get them. Or Denise will probably just post them.

Finally an update...

Hello,
We've been very busy which is why I haven't updated in a long time. The last week we lived in Colorado, we had great weather, of course right when we're leaving. We attempted to go on bike rides. This usually resulted in me complaining about how much my body hurt or saying how I HATE to ride bikes. (Only because 80% of the rides were uphill....these were no leisure bike rides)

Good thing my husband is skilled at everything he tries so he completely makes up for my lacking skills in the biking department.

So....

we moved to Rexburg on April 19th. Stacy drove her car up with us (THANK YOU!!!) because we have so much crap. Then Doug flew in a few days later. Of course Stacy spoiled us all week and bought us dinner and helped me find fabulous furniture from DI that I've been re-painting and making it all look good.
This is where I found the men of course.

Oh scooter. How you've been missed. And yes, the Jesus beard had to go. Darn BYU-Idaho. They should SUPPORT look-alikes. Jeesh.

And this is our apartment. It's our first good, clean, reasonably sized place. We love it! We live on the 3rd floor (boooooo....exercising....boooooo) and this is what you see when you come in our front door.
This is our living room. I want to put up curtains but I'm waiting til we go to my mom's at the end of the month so she can make them. (Yep mom, i bet you didn't know that...) But we'll have to figure out a way to hang them up because we've already put 5 holes in the wall which is all we are allowed until they charge us $50 per hole. Lame. Also, going by the big "H" on the wall is going to be a cute poster sized picture of us. I'm saving up some extra change to do it sometime this semester.

Me and Stacy found this birdcage at DI. I wanted to paint it a cute color like teal, but did it black for now. Plus, they don't sell cool colors of spray paint here. And pleeeeease don't look at all of the homework on the ground. Oh! And Stacy, you will notice the coffee table is black now! Not that hideous gold!

This is our bedroom. We don't have any storage space here so I had to imrpovise and instead of buying bedside tables, we're using our storage containers full of storage items. Trashy? Maybe. Christian suggested his sister Steph make us some "cooler cozy's" for them. But of course they'd be "container cozy's." At least that's 2 less pieces of actual furniture we'll have to move in 1 year!

This is the kitchen. It has lots of space for everything! I have empty cupboards still because there's actually room! It's so great. And I love love love the dishwasher. I am so thankful for it.

Our dining area with our volcom table and chairs.

And finally! OUR OWN WASHER AND DRYER! We love them. I kiss them everyday. And back there is our bathroom. It's too small to take a picture of.

But I do have a picture of the shower curtain! Stacy bought it for us! We love it!

School keeps us very busy. We just hit 4 weeks so we both had tests this week. The weather here is finally turning warm. It was 75ish today and supposed to be warm all week. I'm playing in the competitive volleyball league again. It's so much fun and my team is great! I'm on it with 2 of my very best friends. Christian still works on campus as a ticket usher. He's always doing homework or at school. We're trying to get our scooter to work again so pray for us. We miss that thing. Especially on hot days like today.

1 Year Anniversary

One year already. We can't believe it. Time has gone so fast. I could say things about how we're still in so much love and how perfect our relationship is...but I don't feel like making everyone vomit. Plus, everyone already knows we're perfect :)

The first suprise for our Anniversary was of course, cupcakes from our favorite place! We at them all weekend!

On Friday we went Downtown Denver and checked into the Burnsley Hotel. When we first pulled up, it looked like we were going to be staying at a crack house. I immediatly started appologizing to Christian and saying how next year he should choose the hotel. Luckily, looks can be decieving, cause it turned out to be pretty nice.
While checking in, "Bud" gave us a free upgrade to a 1 bedroom suite, plus gave us some free vouchers for room service. WE NEVER GET THIS LUCKY! We should've played the lottery that night. Our suite was fun! We had a great view of the city, balcony, and a full sized kitchen.

On Friday night, we went to dinner at PF Changs. So great! We even had enough left overs for lunch on Saturday! Score.

After dinner on Friday, we opened gifts. Christian got me some really cute burlap Toms. I made him a rolodex of the story of how we met. Stacy gives me the best ideas! I also gave him a shirt and tickets to the Denver Auto Show.

On Saturday morning, we went to the capitol building. It was all closed up for the day so we didn't get to go inside. We took advantage of the free shuttle service from our hotel and went to the 16th street mall. We spent alot of time at the Tattered Cover bookstore which was awesome.

Saturday night we walked to the Rockies game. It was so much fun! First we had lemonade and nachos. Then we had hotdogs and french fries. We aren't even Rockies fans, but we sure acted like it. We got up and danced every time they hit a home run, cheered for every play, and even boo'd along with the crowd. The game went into 14 innings, but we left during the 12th because it was so cold.

On Sunday, we slept in late and then went to the Denver Auto Show. It was great and we saw lots of cool cars. I really wanted to steal the diesel VW Golf. It's so awesome. It's so small, I probably could've just folded it up into my pocket. On the outside of the building where the Auto show was, they have a huge blue bear peeking inside.

pirate vs. civilian

Meet my brother Randy.
Today Randy called me. This was our conversation:
Me: ...yeah, I bought Christian a cool shirt for our anniversary.
Randy: A ship?
Me: A shirt.
Randy: Oh.
......a pirate ship? Or a civilian ship?
Me: A shirt. Not a ship.
Randy: Oh. Well, what kind of ship would you buy? A pirate or civilian?
Me: I wouldn't buy a ship.
Randy: Well if you bought one, which one would you buy? A pirate or civilian?
Me: It doesn't matter because I didn't buy a ship.
Randy: I know! But what kind would you buy? Pirate or civilian?
Me: I wouldn't buy a ship.
Randy:Iiiiiiiiiiiiiii know! But does Christian want anything aquatic like?
Me: He wants a wakeboarding boat one day.
Randy: What kind? A pirate boat or a civilian boat?
Me: I don't know. Civilian I guess.
Randy: Good. Cause it's bad to buy pirate ships.
Me: Oh.
Randy: I have to go.
Thanks for the advice Rand. I'll make sure any future ship I purchase is civilian and not pirate.
Good thing Randy's married to Kiah who is awesome and keeps Randy in his place.

For your information...

The Jesus beard is still goin strong. WWJD? He'd comb it. He'd make it beautiful. And then He'd high five Christian and say, "Twins dude! Way to go!"

On Saturdays we pretend to be rich and go to car dealerships and test drive cars. How can they reject these faces? I have to play the "spoiled brat wife" who wants the nicest car in the lot. While Christian plays the "extremely whipped husband" who gives his wife whatever she wants. Little do they know, we don't have more than $30 in our bank account. Then we leave and say, "HAHAHA! They actually thought we were going to buy a car! Hahaha, we're funny."

It's our 1 Year Anniversary next Saturday. We expect lots of gifts. (Just kidding)
Or are we kidding???

Fiiiiiiine, we're kidding, you don't have to get us gifts. Jeeeeeeze.

This is a box I covered. It's not really for the birds. It just says that. It's for our mail. Or something else.

h.

For Valentine's Day, Stacy bought me a cardboard H. It's almost 2 feet tall! It's so awesome. So yesterday, I finally decided how I wanted to decorate it. And now it looks like this:
Here's a close up so you can see the detail of the paper.

I'm excited for how it turned out. Christian chose the turqoise for the paint color. Good thing I have him. We're excited to hang it up in our new apartment! If I had a lot of money and a giant wall, I would buy every letter of the alphabet and decorate them all different and hang them randomly on the same wall.
And I just realized that this H looks exactly like our blog background. Weird.

For Denise...

Hey Denise,
I'm communicating with you through Blogging. Sad, I know. But I usually go over my minutes. So, today I got to go to a cool salon and get my hair cut and colored. I hope you like it. Squish your baby for me.
.
This one was Christian's favorite picture. Don't ask why cause I couldn't tell ya.
